These are alterations and additions to an irregular shaped two-storey cavity brick residence. The design utilises the new entry stair, walkway and elevated deck to mediate between the existing angles and the more conventional rectangular form at the front of the property. Sleeping and living spaces are arranged around a central courtyard at the back of the house, creating a private outdoor space and effective transition between backyard and house. The roofs from previous alterations are removed and replaced with a single soaring skillion roof to create a unified contemporary form.
