This project converts a traditional gable roof cottage into a contemporary open-plan home. The additions bring the front of the house up to the street alignment and create a new private courtyard at the back to improve natural light access to the south side of the house. The open-plan living space opens to the north and south for maximum cross-ventilation and flexibility, providing usable outdoor space in various weather conditions. The house is clad in one material only to create a unified appearance.
