This alteration and addition to a 1970s walk-up in Bonnells Bay rearranges the kitchen and laundry area and opens the house up to a new covered deck, improving connectivity with the outdoors. The deck provides sheltered outdoor living space and a transition zone between the house and the backyard. The roof structure, designed to support trellis wires, is cantilevered over a raised planter bed. When established, the vines on the trellis will provide a privacy screen.
