Additional living space is brought into this 1950s coastal cottage in Belmont. The design, inspired by the mid-century styling of the existing house, steps down to ground level, opens to the north and utilises a low pitch skillion roof to connect to the existing structure. The plan pivots the house around a new pool, which provides a focal point and allows daylight to reflect deep into the interior spaces.
